Marbled Explosions

TY students explored the marbling printmaking process, experimenting with concepts of explosive repulsion when oil and water interact. The tactile crafting of explosion bookfolding contrasted the fluidity of the marbling processes experienced. The project was completed with exercises in Neurographica - A drawing-based practice developed by Pavel Piskarev that uses specific techniques to rewire neural pathways and potentially transform thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. It emphasises the drawing process rather than the final aesthetic, encouraging free-flowing creation and access to the subconscious.
