01
The Case of Milltree Park
Heavily informed by confessional art, this series centres on the intentional revelation of the private self as I expose the inner happenings of a very confidential childhood home. Exposing the controversial methods used within it, I capture a home under surveillance and humiliation tactics. The work suggests the pronounce of guilty by display of questionable immoral behaviour and subsequently of inadequate living conditions for a child.
02
Into the Attic
Presented is an excavation of the attic, a universal space of stored memory and verticality. I climb up the creaking ladder into my forbidding attic with compassion and respect for its site of storage and secluded solitude. Heavily influenced by French Philosopher Gaston Bachelard The Poetics of Space, full of lyrical explorations on how our perceptions of houses and other shelters shape of thoughts and memories.

Big Dark Room

Big Dark Room centres on just one of the many emotionally charged spaces of my childhood home - The attic. The room acts as a repository of the possessions, memories, and thoughts too difficult to confront and yet too onerous to let go of. Brought to fruition through a lyrical and photographical balance of subjective and objective perceptions, I engage with philosophical thought on the symbolism of the house as both a protective and feared space. Influenced by architecture on our experience and mentality, I present a disquieting slippage between what seems homely and what is unequivocally unhomely through an uncanny lens.

Artist Book Collection
Spanning across each body of work I utilise bookmaking and curation as a form visual journalling. Each body of work is imbued with the narrative of the artist as they unravel thoughts, research and experimental work, a process that becomes tangled the more immersed one becomes. My artists books represent the challenge of tugging on the loose ends and forming sequential trains of thought that accompany the act of making, researching and curating.
